#ENDSARS: Lagos state judicial panel have come out to say they have awarded a Total of N410.2 million to 70 petitioners who brought before the panel matters relating to police brutality.
The judicial panel end there sitting on Monday as plans are ongoing by Nigerian youths to Mark one year anniversary of the #ENDSARS protest.
Premium Time reported that the panel had awarded N148.2 million to compensate 23 victims of police brutality. While
The panel had also previously compensated 47 petitioners with the sum of N262 million. This in total make the sum of over 410.2 million awarded to 70 victims of Police brutality.
As the panel close, the chair of the panel Doris Okuwobi State that the panel heard 186 petitions from 252 petitioners. she disclose that cases not opened and unconcluded would be sent to the Lagos State Ministry of Justice for consideration on the future body that would handle human rights violations in the state.
She added in relation to On Lekki tollgate shooting, that the panel would submit its findings which include individual petitions on the incident to the state government and recommend compensation to the petitioners.
Mrs Okuwobi said the Lekki tollgate shooting, report would be made public by the state government.
