- Biltong
Biltong originated from southern African countries (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi etc), it is a form of thinly sliced strips of dried and cured meat made from Various types of meat such as beef, game meats like ostrich or kudu.
It is similar to the Nigerian made Kilichi or suya. The cut may vary, either fillets of meat cut into strips following the grain of the muscle, or flat pieces sliced across the grain. the typical ingredients, taste and production processes may differ.

The most common ingredients of biltong are:

- Vinegar
Other ingredients that can be added include: balsamic vinegar or malt vinegar, sugar, dry ground chili peppers, nutmeg, paprika, lemon juice, garlic, onion powder, etc
2. Bunny chows
Bunny chows it is often called bunny, it is made of bread filled with curries made using traditional recipes: mutton or lamb curry, chicken curry, and beans curry. it originated among Indian South Africans of Durban, Durban is the third most populous city in South Africa. Different version of bunny which uses only a quarter loaf of bread is found in different part of south Africa. Bunny chows are also served with a side portion of salad containing grated carrot, chilli, onion salad etc.

3. Pap en Sous
Pap en Sous as the name implies, pap which is commonly called akamu (pap) or ogi in Nigeria, made from made from milled maize (corn) and sous (Sauce) made from chopped pepper, tomatoes, onions, and spices. It is simply pap and pepper stew. it was said to be a common food found at events just like jollof rice is found in every event in Nigeria.
Pap en Sous can be served with Braai’d, a Grilled South African Sausage.

4. Cape Malay curry
Cape Malay curry was said to be brought to cape town by the Dutch and French while bringing slaves from Indonesia, India and Malaysia. Cape Malay curry is known for combining sweet and savory flavors–using sweet spices like cinnamon and ginger, dried fruit, and seasonings like garlic and onions. it is usually served with rice, mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

5. Chakalaka
Chakalaka similar to the common African salad is a vegetable dish made from tomatoes, peppers, carrots, onions, beans and spices, and is often served cold or at room temperature. Different version of this dish exist, depending on what who is cooking decide to add. It can be served with bread, pap, samp, stews, or curries along with babraaied known as barbecued meat.
