Gunmen attack Oyo prison, set free prisoners, The Correctional facility situated at Abolongo area in Oyo, Oyo State, was reportedly attacked by gunmen, late Friday night, over 800 prisoners there in reportedly set free.
According to report by BBC News, a statement relesed by Anjorin Olanrewaju, stated that ” a total of 262 of the escapees have been recaptured.”
Vanguard gathered that the gunmen stormed the Correctional facility at Abolongo late on Friday night, attacking with grenades to gain access and set the prisoners free.
Report state the invaders arrive the Centre heavily armed with sophisticated weapons. This left the facility in disarray with warders scampering for safety. The gunmen gain entrance into the prison using dynamite to blast the wall.
