
Solomon Akuma, a pharmacist detained by the Muhammadu Buhari regime, was prosecuted after his arrest on April 2, 2020, in Abia, Abia State for tweeting that he will “pay a Russian sniper to eliminate (President Muhammadu) Buhari and (Abba) Kyari (Buhari’s former Chief of Staff)” in response to a Twitter post asking “if $1million hits your account, your next move?”

Akuma will be celebrating his second birthday in detention following his arrest in 2020 over the Twitter comment. He turned 30 on, Tuesday, February 1, 2022, but he will not be having fun on his birthday as he is being detained by the Buhari regime.
Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, in a Twitter post with #FreeSolomonAkuma, on Tuesday, knocked the Buhari regime over Akuma’s detention.
The court said that the matter was not diligently prosecuted.
