Reini Akakpo, a 26-year-old mother of one, was murdered by a BRT bus in Lagos, Nigeria. The driver of the vehicle is believed to have fled the site of the collision and was not identified at the time of this report. According to eyewitnesses, the victim’s daughter, who was with her at the time of the accident, survived with injuries.
Reini, was crushed to death by a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) driver who is presently on the run in the Agege region of Lagos state. Amelia, the victim’s one-year-old daughter, was taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, along with her 26-year-old mother.

According to report, Reini and her daughter attempted to cross the BRT lane to go to their destination when the bus driver crashed into them.
Legit Ng reports that According to an eyewitness, who identified himself only as Uche, after the accident, several good Samaritans rescued the wounded, and Reini died as a result of her injuries.

“The woman and her daughter were beside me when I wanted to cross to connect to Union road to go to my shop around 8.13 am. But the woman rushed and the BRT driver, who was driving at top speed, knocked down the woman and her daughter.
“After the accident, people started pouring water on the woman’s face; her daughter was unconscious. The woman’s pain was too much, but people rushed her to a hospital. It was later that I got to know that she died.” Uche said.
Reini’s husband, while grieving the occurrence on Monday, said that his wife was abandoned at LASUTH for one hour before dying in a car on the hospital grounds.
