Nigerian Government Agrees to Lift Twitter Ban, if Certain Conditions Are Met.

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari made a statement on Friday during a speech to commemorate Nigeria’s Independence day that Twitter had reached out to the Nigerian Government to lift the ban, and he has already agreed to that provided that the company meet certain conditions.

He said a committee had engaged with Twitter to address the key issues including “National Security and Cohesion; registration, physical presence and representation; fair taxation; dispute resolution; and local content.”
