On Friday, the Russia Ministry of Defense issued a pdf data summary of the number of foreign mercenaries fighting on Ukraine’s behalf.
According to the statistics, 85 Nigerians arrived in response to Kiev’s invitation to join a “foreign legion” to combat Russia. 38 people have been slain in the combat, 35 have returned to Nigeria, and 12 are still fighting.

Romania is next, with 504 arrivals, 102 deaths, and 98 exits. The United Kingdom ranks third with 422 arrivals, 101 fatalities, and 95 exits. Canada is the most populous country in the Americas, with 601 arrivals, 162 deaths, and 169 departures.
The United States is in second place with 530 arrivals, 214 fatalities, and 227 departures. The most mercenaries came from the Middle East, Transcaucasus, and Asia, with 355 mercenaries from Georgia, 120 of whom perished, and 90 leaving Ukraine.

The Russian general went on to say that as of June 17, 1, 956 foreign fighters had been killed in the battlefield, with 1,779 having returned home.
“3,321 mercenaries are alive, not yet captured, or have not yet escaped to the Ukrainian border,” he explained.
